Occasions do arise from time to time when children are well enough to attend school, but have to take medicines. If a medicine has to be taken 3 times each day, there is no need for a child to bring the medicine to school - that medicine should be taken at breakfast time, at 3.30 p.m. when a child arrives home from school, and finally before bedtime.

However, if a child is on medication that is required at least four times a day, and therefore needing to be administered at school, then school can support families with this. A consent form needs to be completed in the school office.

If your child has a recurring medical problem, such as asthma or allergies, it is essential that an individual health care plan is completed with the SENCO or the Headteacher. This plan is reviewed annually.
